The BEST sugar cookies

Hi Ladies,
I am now a part of this blog.. we have been out of town and I am so excited to post and see all of your AMAZING recipes!! I made the mistake of showing Kalen this blog, and now I have been deeemed "Worst wife ever" because you guys make awesome food ( puts my mac and cheese to shame). So, here is to new talents! The one thing that I can make good though, is cookies. I guess that is why Kalen married me. So here is to butter and sugar, enjoy!

Cookie:
1 cup butter
1 1/2 Cups sugar
2 eggs
3 tablespoons sour cream
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 1/4 cups flour
cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, sour cream, almond extract, and vanilla and mix well. Add soda, salt, and flour and mix on low just until cominded. Roll into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate 3 to 4 hours ( I am too impatient to do that step. I put them in the freezer for 15-20 minutes, and it has always worked fine). Roll out on floured surface and cut into shapes. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet, (I actually grease my cookie sheet so I can cook the cookies for less time, I like them really soft, and have them still come off the pan ok) at 375 degrees for 6-8 minutes (I do six), these cookies don't brown! Cook on racks.

Frosting:
1/2 Cups butter, softened but not melted
4 cups powdered sugar (about half the bag)
1/4 cups milk (or more)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
pinch of salt
In mixing bowl, beat butter slowly with powdered sugar. Add milk and continue to beat. Add vnailla, almond extract and salt. If needed, add more milk to make frosting spreading consistency. Color with food coloring.
